Repair Process Overview Print

Below is our 10 step process for getting your car back on the road, should you make an insurance claim.

1:

Notification

Once we are notified by your insurance company/insurance Broker regarding your claim we will contact you as a matter of urgency and if we cannot get through to you by telephone we will send out a letter in the post asking you to contact us, or if you prefer to pay for repairs privately, we will deal directly with you.

2:

Estimates

If your vehicle is drivable, we aim to have your vehicle off the road for the shortest time as possible; therefore, we will arrange with you to carry out a mobile estimate where we can attend at your home or work address and take images of your vehicle; (if making an insurance claim) once back at the garage we will send images of your damaged vehicle to your Insurance company along with a detailed estimate.

 3:

Recovery

If your vehicle is not drivable, we will collect your vehicle as a matter of urgency and deliver a courtesy vehicle free of charge, should you be entitled to one through your insurance. We cover most of the North East area.

 4:

Book in

Once authorisation is received from the insurance company we will arrange to book your vehicle in for repair. (However if your vehicle was not drivable and we have recovered it to our premises, we will carry out a full detailed estimate and send images and estimate to the insurance company for approval).

 5:

On Site

Once on site, your vehicle will be inspected if necessary and checked for any additional damage.

 6:

Panel

Our panel shop is equipped with experienced staff that are fully trained in all aspects of vehicle repair; we have the new generation welders to weld boron steel required by most vehicle manufacturers.

 7:

Paint

All vehicle repairs are painted in the revolutionary Sikkens Water base paint system called Autowave. The waterborne technology is the new solution to making motor vehicle painting environmentally friendly. In today’s markets car refinishes need to keep up with the ever increasing technology that vehicle manufacturers are adding to their new vehicles, with every new model; for this reason we use Sikkens paint technology backed up by a Sikkens Multinational world leader in over 60 countries. We have three spray booths along with the latest technology, computerised paint-mixing scheme capable of achieving the exact colour match to replicate that manufacturers finish, backed up by all of the technical support from Sikkens Paint Technology.

 8:

Quality Checks

Each vehicle is quality checked after each stage of repair by our Quality Assurance Supervisors’.

 9:

Completion

Upon completion of repairs, we will contact you to arrange Delivery/Collection of your vehicle and you will be handed a Customer satisfaction questionnaire to complete and post back to us free of charge in the pre-paid envelope provided. We value your comments!

 10:

Peterlee Motor Body Repair Centre Ltd guarantees workmanship on all repairs for a period of three years from date of completion. All parts fitted by us will carry a full manufacturers warranty.
